Don’t Click Unknown Links in Emails
It sounds simple, but it’s one of the most important habits you can build: never click a link in an email unless you’re absolutely sure it’s safe.
Phishing emails are getting sneakier. Some look like they’re from your school, your tech department, or even your principal. But one rogue click can give hackers access to student data, district systems, or your entire email account.
What to Do Instead:
- Hover before you click – Move your mouse over the link to preview the URL. If it looks suspicious, don’t click.
- Verify with the sender – If the email feels off (unexpected, urgent, full of typos), confirm it with the sender using another method (like Teams or in person).
- Look for red flags – Strange language, unknown senders, or email addresses that almost look legit are common tricks.
Train your reflexes: When in doubt, don’t click.
